How to Screw Yourself at Autozone

Just bought a carb kit at Autozone. I've already searched all their part numbers to get the best price on the exact same kit (interior packaging has the same part number irrespective of what's printed on the outside box). I buy a kit for $19.99 that is identical to a $24.99 kit.

You have to spend $20 to get a reward credit. I told the girl who was checking me out to get herself a candy bar so the total sale would exceed $20. She picked out a King Size Reeses for $2.29. Brought my total sale to $22.28.

Oh well, I did at least come out $2.71 ahead....

Plus, you did get to flirt with her. Whereas, when I need to go to Autozone, I either use the 10% military discount or put it on a friend's professional account, pay cash, and tell him whenever I see him.

Autozone is sometimes a rip off.

Case in point - they want $38.99 for an 02 sensor for our cars:

Not to mention that a trip to Autozone would cost me about $8 in fuel.

I purchased the same 02 sensor, delivered to my house, for $14:

Now that's what I call a great deal!

I'll bet she's aight. You should "get in the zone." Once steve learns her name he can use it as an x-ref for "gf."

Get rid of fuel injection and you can get rid of those pesky O2 sensors altogether.

    A) I live about a mile from my Autozone -- I could walk up there if necessary
    B) Autozone gives me $20 credit for every 5 purchases of $20 or more. If I keep those purchases as close to $20 as possible, that equates to a 20% retail discount on them
    C) Autozone's warranty database is nationwide -- Advance's warranty database doesn't even extend to neighboring towns
    D) Autozone sells a surprising number of Rebuilt in USA parts (they also sell a surprising number of Made in Israel new parts if you are a Zionist)
    E) My Autozone lets me go in the back and get my own parts (more fun when my store used to be a hub -- now a lot of stuff has to be transferred in from Fayetteville)
