I've heard rumors that upgrading to carburetion is more reliable than OEM K-Jet.

Personally, I'd say that's highly debatable. But I'd definitely agree that carburetion is much easier and cheaper to trouble shoot if/when you experience a problem with it (unless your name happens to be Farrar).

    Be nice....

Goodness only knows what's going on with #2613, but I do know this: if core health of Farrar's block can be verified, everything else is just window dressing. Core engine permitting, the car *CAN* be made to purr like a contented kitten [/gratuitous cat remark for Farrar's benefit]

Of that, I have no doubt!

That boy really needs to do a compression check!

Should probably also pick up a capillary oil pressure gauge to verify the bearings are OK.

My Boo purrs more like a Lion with the headers and thrush turbo mufflers. I think it even sounds smoother than the K-Jets I've seen. No idle hunting. Just smooth carberated goodness ! Starts up every time right away, no worries with the 2100 on there.

    LOVING IT !

Picked up my AMC parts car this afternoon. Has a 2100 sitting on top of its AMC 304 block (not just Ford used them: AMC and Chrysler also used 2100's).

Just out of curiosity, does it have your LCA's and door struts installed?
