It's just a satellite internet provider. Remember when Josh/Nightflyer was talking about an issue with his satellite ISP connecting to DMCToday? Viasat is the same company. They just changed names from Exede to Viasat a couple of months ago.

I just find it entertaining to go on there and read all the comments from people complaining that they aren't getting more than they are paying for.

Incidentally, I am buying a little bit of stock in VSAT every month. This company has plans to cover 75% of the planet with satellite internet over the next few years. They also provide internet to just about every domestic flight in the USA and have military contacts as well.

My plan is to keep at least $3,000 in VSAT stock until the island purchase goes through. Whenever that happens, I'm going to sell $3,000 of VSAT to pay my share for the island.

Looks like a lot of unsatisfied people. What's the motivation to use this service over a "normal" provider?

It's satellite internet. The main motivation for using it is when dial-up is the only other option. The people that like to complain, or comparing it to cable and DSL internet.

That's what some Viasat customers seem to think it is. It works pretty good for me. I'm on the cheapest plan and I use anywhere from 100 GB to 300 GB a month.

What's the monthly nut on 300 GB? What if I never ever ever ever look at porn?

Beats me. Most of my downloads are automated. I have a Playon server that automatically records netflix content when the satellite network isn't full of traffic. That's why I use so much data.
