Do we have any wine snobs here?

Only reason I'm asking is because I tried a new very cheap wine tonight and dam if it's not some of the tastiest wine I have ever drank.

OK, maybe I'm over selling it a bit but for what equates to 5 bucks a bottle, it's very good! I'm into reds mostly with a strong leaning towards the Austrailian wines but I also like Robert Mondavi and my all time favorite is Ghost Pines winemaker's blend (65 cab 35 shiraz). I like cabs mostly and will drink Shiraz and Pinot often as well.

So enter Bota box and just like the name suggests, it's in a box but it's quite a ingenious design as it prevents air from entering the "bottle" so it will not prematurely break down. I have drank "the box" before but only as a money saving alternative which is fine but not great...until I got a hold of something called Nighthawk Black. It's a very dark and bold cabernet and man it really has got some flavor! It's about 18.00 a box and a box is equivalent to 4 750ml bottles. I would rank it right up there with Ghost Pines (completely different taste but same complexity) which is about 20 bucks a bottle.

So if any of you fellow snobs try it let me know if I'm just a simple minded idiot that thinks wine in a box is delicious or am I right in declaring the Nighthawk Black is just delicious as a wine and as a cheap wine possibly the best money can buy.

Well, I “Whine” and many may think I am a “Snob”.

But I don’t drink wine. Used to drink HobNob Pino Noir but now I drink Genesee cream ale.

    Damn right!

My preferred drink is a 23 year gunpowder-imparted bourbon aged with cobra venom, poured over iron ingots, and served in Teddy Roosevelt's cavalry hat.

Its only available at a by-invite speakeasy where to join, you must defeat the owner and 2 fellow members in an old timey boxing tournament while blindfolded.

Just kidding. When I'm at a fancy winery I tell them, "Give me something that kids would like. You know, maybe onna dem wine slushies!"

I will have to try that wine if I can find it here. I drink a glass of wine each night before going to bed. It helps me sleep.

If I drink sophisticated red wine I get wicked heartburn. Sweet reds or white, not so much. Even port or whiskey doesn't affect me like red wine.

It's frustrating because I learned how to enjoy black coffee for the benefits, metabolic boost, and no sugar/fats. So far I can't learn how to not get heartburn.

That ghastly commoner is so uncouth that anything I would say in the Queen's English would be lost upon his "Fly Over Country" intellect.
