Patrick Swayze's Delorean going up for auction.

No, this is not a joke! LOL!

His widow is a greedy biatch and is auctioning off EVERYTHING of his estate (there's a whole separate story about the Swayze family battling with Patrick's widow regarding wanting Patrick's keepsakes, a pretty sad and f'ed up situation, but I'll spare you all of that). I believe the live auction will be April 28th in Los Angeles. But you can bid on items beforehand and bid online while the auction is live. The bid for his Delorean is currently at $22,500.

Here's a link to the Delorean on the auction site:

And Here's a link for more info about the entire auction:

"Patrick Swayze’s 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 Coupe. Manufactured from 1981 to 1983 by John DeLorean in Northern Ireland for the American market.
Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the vehicle features gullwing doors, fiberglass body, steel backbone chassis, and brushed stainless steel body panels.
Equipped with a French Peugeot-Renault-Volve (PRV) 2849 cc / 2.85 litre V-6 naturally aspirated rear engine with 140 horsepower and a maximum torque of 152 ftlb; Bosch k-Jetonic fuel injection; 5-speed manual transmission; rear wheel drive; Rack & Pinion
steering; 12-valves; power front and rear disc brakes; four wheel independent,
double wishbone suspension; and cast alloy wheels.
Furthermore, the vehicle has a wheelbase of 94.8 inches and a curb weight of 2,743 pounds with a top speed of 175.4 mph; reaching from 0-60 in 8.8 seconds.
Standard features include: grey leather seats, air conditioning, AM/FM cassette stereo, power windows, locks and mirrors, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, intermittent/constant windshield wipers, and an electric rear window defogger.
Icon status was achieved via the limelight provided through success of the Back to the Future movie franchise. Swayze often laughed at the fact that he bought his DeLorean just two days before John DeLorean got busted for cocaine on October 19, 1982.
Includes a City of Santa Monica Police Department court notice given to Swayze for a red light violation in the DeLorean. VIN:SCEDT26T6BD005307 – Mileage: 62,395.

I saw that listing yesterday. I'd love to own it and so would about a million other people.

Someone is going to buy that car for a lot of money.

I would take issue with that top speed claim

It's a bold move to manufacture rarely used transmission filters for a rarely used car, but then again I'm a bold guy......Is "bold" the right word?

I quit reading the specs at 140 hp.

Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk because I'm too lazy to turn off the mobile signature thingie on my phone.

Haha yeah I figured the specs would be off. I mean, the auction site didn't even get the correct year that Patrick Swayze died, so I had low expectations for their accuracy of the Delorean specs.

I agree, alot of people will be bidding on it. I was surprised to see the current bid be at a reasonable price, but there's still 3 weeks to go. I just wanted to spread the word to the real Delorean enthusiasts in hopes that it would go to a good home.

Interestingly it's an October 81 build with a gas flap hood. Im sure there is a story behind that.
