That is a pretty car; though, it would struggle to get half of their asking price. The market for 4-door cars from the '70s just isn't there.

That amazes me. I've bought several of these cars for the V8s; I still have the paperwork of a '77 New Yorker I bought, running and driving, in the exact same colors, for $750.

Hell, that's 4.5 times what I paid for my '66 Imperial LeBaron; and that car is a factory triple-black, loaded, 440 car.

Here's a '77 2-door that has an asking price of 1/3 what that one sold for:

Or a '76 4-door that coud probably be had for $3,500.

    https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...1591840446853/

Then there's this '77 that seems like a solid car for $4,500

    https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...2171808078807/

Now this; this is what I'm used to, a sub-$2k New Yorker:

    https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...5399870459968/

Though, if I were in the market for one, I'd buy this $3,500 example with under 40k miles:

I absolutely cannot fathom what drove the price up on this car to just shy of $16k when there's no shortage of these cars around, with low mileage, for well under $10k. That is a VERY atypical sale that I do not understand the motivation for.

In the next two weeks I may be picking up a very rare car that has K-Jet. Normally, I wouldn't be taking on such a project; but the rarity and the low price were too good to pass up. It's a vehicle that intrigues me and I'll be buying it solely for me.

    Rarer and more cylinders.

Edit: I had to double-check; it's technically slightly more common in terms of worldwide production numbers, but US offerings were, roughly, half that of the Bertone.
